Classic Moment of Cinema: Slumber Party Massacre II (1987) - Let's Buzz

Nothing livens up a slasher movie sequel quite like an impromptu music video sequence, right?  Hey, it worked in Body Double, right?

This also marks the second appearance of actress Juliette Cummins (Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning) getting brutally murdered in a Classic Moment of Cinema.  On March 11th, of this year, I posted a clip of her getting hacked to ribbons in Psycho III.  Is it any wonder she stopped acting in movies and just does commercials?

This is one of my "Holy Grail" soundtracks, in that I really want to add it to my collection, but cannot (for the moment).   Varese Sarabande did release a soundtrack album for the film when it came out during the summer of 1980 and, many years later, they also released a limited edition CD (only 1,000 copies) of that same album.  Both the original vinyl and the limited edition CD are currently way out of my price range.

The Ward (2011) - Music by Mark Kilian

Here is the opening credit sequence from Carpenter's as of yet unreleased movie, The Ward.  The hypnotic score was definitely influenced by Ennio Morricone.

If a soundtrack album of the score is ever released, I'm buying it.  I just hope the film itself doesn't turn out to be the Sucker Punch of horror.

Explorers (1985) - Music Composed and Conducted by Jerry Goldsmith

Here is a wonderful piece from Jerry Goldsmith's terrific score for Joe Dante's Explorers:

The Construction is one of my favorite tracks from the Explorers soundtrack.  What has been done in this video is that the soundtrack album recording has replaced the film's audio recording.  Since the album recording is a presentation of the music that is meant to be listened to, syncing the music to the visual image is not required, which is why the music beats do not match film's image beats.
